The Silent Angel N16 LPS has two isolated zones for network traffic isolation. Physical isolation avoids ethernet traffic intereference, so the (most critical!) audio player gets rid of unwanted network traffic.

To obtain a stable, low noise, fast response power source, the N16 LPS is equipped with a Silent Angel Forester F1 linear power module. By using a fully symmetric circuit (in both transformer and circuit), this Forester linear power module provides two isolated power sources, that meet the high frequency loading nature of a switch circuit and clock circuit, feeding two separated 8 port switch modules. 

The N16 LPS isolates the clock source for each network zone. Compared to the N8, power supply decoupling was significantly improved, the N16 has two well-powered TCXO modules for two isolated network zones, so the TCXO can get rid of the power noise from the switch circuit. Bottom line: the N16 is more than just two N8 switches and a Forester F1 combined into one housing, it has an improved power circuitry for the critical TXCO modules, nevertheless it comes at a lower price than two N8 switches plus one F1.

There are two typical scenarios for your N16 LPS to fit in your network environment:

As a service there is also a KE-modified version available. It contains 36 replaced and added Audio Grade capacitors, a Synergistic Research Orange Fuse, 40 Creaktiv Systems Mini Tuning Chips and multiple damping sheets to suppress unwanted resonances from the housing. It also contains 12 Vortex RJ45 Caps to terminate unused ports. The results are much more lifelike musicians and instruments with plenty of body and presence plus more dynamics and a wider, deeper stage.
